The morning is still
And the sun is slow on the rise
And I can hear my neighbor’s handiwork calling me
I set out
Camera at the ready
To spy out little, pretty things
To capture them
If only for a moment
I kneel in the dewy grass or the damp dirt or on the cold concrete
Knees unconcerned at the discomfort or soiling
And twist my body this way and that
To get up close
To study
And take delight
In soft, vibrant petals, sweet green leaves, stalwart stems
In what my friends have so lovingly planted and tended to
I return home toting treasures
To share with you

What a beautiful reminder of how much God cares for me. True examples of Matthew 6:28.
