I am Goliath

I killed a spider today

He was hanging out on the wall

Behind the toilet flusher

Minding his own business

While I did mine

Didn’t notice the little bugger until I stood up

Black and spindly, the epitome of ugly, as far as I’m concerned

My first thought was a sympathetic one

He eats other bugs

He’s helpful

I could just walk away

My second thought

There are no other bug-like beings about besides him

And he’s bugging me

He’s an affront to my senses

Why didn’t he know to stay hidden

He could have been responsible for a major potty mishap

Had he been so brave and stupid as to creepy-crawl up my bare backside

I wadded tissue and did some tactical maneuvering to get in the right position

To go in for the kill

Yeah

I took him out

Squished him good and sent him to a watery grave

Flusssssssshhhhhhh

That harmless, unfortunate, homely thing

No bigger then my thumbnail

Who made the fatal mistake

Of getting too close

To my big, white, naked butt 😀

  1. Don’t you sometimes wonder why pesky little things like spiders come to disturb us? Then I think, is it a reminder that sometimes I am that pesky little spider in someone’s life. Good thing they can’t squish me!
