On this windy day
The wind buffeted my head
And blew my blue hat off
I turned and darted after it
It was a gift
From my daughter
It skipped along the red, gravely trail
As if alive
The wind boosting it from beneath
I lunged and snatched it up before a gust could take it further
My husband says he looks outside to gauge the windiness
And then decides whether or not he will go out
And often not
He doesn’t like the wind
But here the wind is ever-present
An unwanted pal that sticks around even when given the broadest hints to get lost
And the out of doors too precious
To wait for those too few, still days
I pulled my hat down with a tug
Made sure it fit more snugly
As I leaned in, pushing onward
Into the wind
On this windy day

Kudos to you for not letting the wind steal your joy of enjoying the beauty God has created. Today I will be intentional in looking for ‘wind’ to get me off track & put on my hat a little tighter. As always, thanks for sharing Polly.
Thanks for your encouraging words, my friend! Grace and peace, Maria!
