The Crown

I humbly come to the cross of Christ

My head bowed low, my sin laid bare

I do not stand condemned beneath a load of guilt and shame

I confess, I am forgiven, and made clean

And not long there do I remain

Nor will I cling

The cross is incomplete to save

If Christ be moldering in the grave

The cross is naught but dust

His death in vain

My Saviour lives or there’s no saving to be had

I lift my head remembering my Lord is risen and He reigns

I am a child of God

A new creation

A joint heir of His promises

A citizen of Heaven

His resurrection and His rule, the thrust of my salvation

The cross, His suffering, and death are not the final word

It is the crown! The victory, authority, and glory of the crown!

I leave my sin behind and, every day, lay down my life only to take it up again

Abundant and eternal

Forevermore in Him

The King of kings

All hail King Jesus!
